Life Quotes from the Bible

Life Quotes from the Bible
The Bible has numerous quotes on how to live the right way. These quotes serve as a reminder its inspired words of wisdom about life and living.

From the enormity of God’s love to humankind, the Bible has a wonderful way of capturing how He revealed Himself and how people lived during those times. These Biblical life quotations include sayings on love, quotes on hope, and quotes of wisdom that Christians or believers can identify with in their day to day living.

Lifestyle of the Righteous

The book of Psalms continuously touches on the blessedness of the righteous person and the eventual misery of the wicked.

The focus is two-fold: the word of God in the life of the righteous who earnestly love His word, and the result or fruitfulness of His word to those who live it.

“Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of the sinners or sit in the seat of the mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.” ~ Psalm 1: 1-2

Life Committed to Teaching Children Diligently

Parents and adults are instructed to commit themselves to diligently teach their children the commands and laws of God and to talk to them about God’s righteous ways so that they can enjoy long life.

“Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” ~ Deuteronomy 6:7

An Exemplary Lifestyle

The lifestyle inculcated in the Christian living has been that of a person who walks in the ways of the Lord, unlike the lifestyle of a fool who walks along the road, lacks sense, and acts untowardly.

“Who is wise? He will realize these things. Who is discerning? He will understand them. The ways of the Lord are right, the righteous walk in them but the rebellious stumble in them.” ~ Hosea 14:9

“Blessed are they whose ways are blameless; who walk according to the law of the Lord. Blessed are they who keep his statues and seek him with all their heart.” ~ Psalm 119: 1-2

A Life of Humility

As the apostle Paul takes his message to the Romans, he speaks of Christ bringing new life, and in later passage he gives the rules for Christian living. In this quote, Paul reminds the Romans not to think they are better than they really are, for their good sense can only be measured by what God has given them.

“Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.” ~ Romans 12: 3

A Life of Decent Behavior

The apostle Paul continues to admonish the Romans in this quote. He tells them to behave properly, not to be vulgar or indecent, not to quarrel or be jealous.

“Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.” ~ Romans 13: 13

A Life of Love

The verse below comes from the 13th chapter of St. Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians. It is about living a life of love the Godly way. The entire passage is called the “Love Chapter” of the Bible. It is about faith, hope and love, and the greatest of the three, is love.

“If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames but have not love, I gain nothing.” ~ I Corinthians 13: 2-3
